Affordable Care Act - Medical Records Mandate
Electronic Medical Record Awareness (President Obama's 2014 Health Care Mandate)
Health care remains one of the few industries that relies on paper records. The new law will institute a series of changes to standardize billing and requires health plans to begin adopting and implementing rules for the secure, confidential, electronic exchange of health information. Using electronic health records will reduce paperwork and administrative burdens, cut costs, reduce medical errors and most importantly, improve the quality of care.

Medical Errors Major Cause of Injury

Research indicates that "Medical errors are a major cause of injury and death in the United States. The now-famous report by the Institute of Medicine estimated that 44,000 to 98,000 people die in US hospitals each year as the result of medical errors. (This means that more people die from medical errors than from motor vehicle accidents, breast cancer or AIDS.)"

Do You Believe Medical Records Can Save Lives?

PLEASE TAKE QUICK YES OR NO SURVEY?

I never think about medical records as credit records.

Do you believe that accurate medical records save lives?

Do you believe that accurae credit records save lives and reduce health care cost?

Do you believe that Electronic Medical Records will reduce medial record errors such as credit record errors?

Do you believe that you should take charge of your medical records?

Do you believe that patients should not be charged a fee to receive their medical records?

I don't know how to request my medical records.

I don't know that I have a legal right to my medical records.

Do you believe the information that your doctor discusses with you is true?

Do you believe your medical records are accurate?

Do you believe that all doctors have your best interest at heart?

Do you trust your doctor?

Do you believe that requesting, reviewing, and updating your medical records is communicating with your doctor?

Do you believe your doctor or any health care facility can make errors?

If you answered "YES" to any of the above questions you need to read my story.
